CUTE BUT COOL
Ever since I’ve started my blog, I’ve noticed that my love for contrasts started growing and growing. For example, I love chique items combined to tough items and solid fabrics combined to heavier ones. In this outfit I am playing with contrasts as well. Let me tell you how…
I got this maxi coat during a dinner with ASOS in Amsterdam. I completely fell in love with it and although I had to get used to it being so much longer than most of my other maxi coats, I really like the static silhouette it brings about. So I must say that this coat has both feminine and heavier elements all in itself.
I combined the coat to cut off jeans (how I love that detail on the hem!) and a cool sweater that says “Uhuh honey”. The boots are sturdy and tough with a chunky sole which is something I can always appreciate. On the other hand, and literally on my hands I am wearing cute little bracelets that are in total contrast with the cool boots.
I found these bracelets at Styled by Diana, a small Dutch webshop that sells these bracelets in all sorts and colors. Stars, hearts and flowers. Will we ever outgrow them? Diana, owner of the webshop, told me she ran into these bracelets by accident last summer in Italy. She was sold and wanted to share them with the Dutch market. And so do I, cause I really like the fact that they are different from all metal bracelets and the fun thing is that you can style them in endless ways cause there are so many colors available.
That’s another contrast in this look: colors. I would’ve never thought to match lilac with army green. And who would’ve thought that the two would actually match? At least we can all agree that both are standing out much more next to each other.
What do you think of contrasts?
